May 2nd - May 6th is Education Week with the Ottawa Catholic School Board.  There are many exciting things happening at St. Martin de Porres.  Please join us to celebrate the gift of Catholic Education.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

You are invited to our RISE and SHINE gathering as part of our Catholic Education Week activities, on Wednesday, May 4th, 8:15 - 9:00 a.m.

If possible, each family is asked to donate half a dozen nut-free muffins for our “Muffin Breakfast.” Muffins may be brought to the front foyer where they will be served with coffee and juice. As an Eco-School, we encourage you to bring your own mug if you would like to enjoy a cup of coffee or juice. All leftover muffins and baked goods will be donated to the Kanata Shepherds of Good Hope.

Students will be the hosts and hostesses for their parents. During the Open House your child(ren) will escort you to their classrooms to see education in action. Children must remain with parents/guardians at all times. After our muffin breakfast you are invited to watch the Dance Showcase performance in the gym.

Parents/Guardians, please remember that if you cannot attend, your child should come to school at the regular 9:00 a.m. time. No student should come to school early, as supervision does not begin until 9:00 a.m.

In keeping with our Board theme, “Restore One Another in a Spirit of Gentleness,” our school community will be involved in initiatives to help those less fortunate. This year, social justice club members will be selling student-made bookmarks, used books, and raffle tickets for a concert with the proceeds going to CHEO and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued generosity.
